Quinton Kirsch — Instrumentation & Calibration Technician

Quinton was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been interested in meteorology for as long as he can remember. On May 31st, 2013 an EF3 tornado tracked through his neighborhood further solidifying this passion. He is most interested in instrument meteorology and remote sensing. Quinton has spent countless hours tinkering with sensors and doing personal research to further his understanding on the subject. He does not plan on attending college but hopes to pursue a rewarding career in metrology as a calibration technician.

For our project, Quinton is responsible for constructing the mobile mesonets used for surface observations and determining the best methods of data collection. He will also be responsible for maintaining the instrumentation which will include but is not limited to necessary repairs, calibration, and general maintenance of all sensing equipment.
